BMC 1800 Berlina Aerodinamica
Pininfarina had a long association with the British Motor Corporation, designing the Austin A55 Cambridge, A40 and 1100 among others. Perhaps the biggest lost cause concept car of all was the 1967 BMC 1800 proposal, which BMC didn't take up. Others were clearly inspired by it, notably Citroen whose GS and CX models were dead ringers for the advanced design. Rover eventually paid its respects to the shape with the SD1.
