Ferrari LaFerrari at Geneva Motor Show 2013

There are a number of truly remarkable things about this new Ferrari – not least that the company was able to keep so many details about it secret until the covers were finally whipped back on the first press day of the show. Then, of course, there’s the name – LaFerrari – something everyone is talking about.

But focusing on that ‘issue’ betrays Ferrari’s achievement with this car. It has 718kW, thanks to an electric motor assisted 6.3-litre V12 that revs to 9,250rpm; its carbon fibre structure is assembled alongside Ferrari’s F1 cars; and it’ll hit 300kmh in just 15 seconds. Budget at least fifteen million Rand. Just 499 will be made, and they're all sold out.
